Woman arrested after scuffle with officers outside Glendale Burger King

A 51-year-old woman who claimed she was once married to Michael Jackson was arrested late Saturday after allegedly kicking and spitting on officers outside a Burger King restaurant, police said.

Nancy Balcorta called 911 about 11:25 p.m. from the fast-food restaurant in 3500 block of Foothill Boulevard, claiming she had been raped, kicked out of her home and that she was the ex-wife of the late pop star, according to Glendale police.

Officers arrived at the restaurant and recognized Balcorta from an earlier call after she was allegedly discovered sleeping on a driveway outside a home and refused to leave.

This time, Balcorta was yelling and demanded that employees open the restaurant so she could call for real officers because she thought the responding officers were fake, police said.

The employees continued to ignore Balcorta, who allegedly began banging on the restaurant’s glass doors with her fists.

A struggle ensued between Balcorta and officers after she refused to stop banging on the doors, police said.

During the fight, she allegedly tried to bite one of the officers, and then kicked them several times.

She allegedly tried to use the open end of a handcuff to hit the officers and grabbed one officer’s groin, police said.

After they were able to handcuff Balcorta, she spat at one of the officer’s shoes and continued kicking, police said.

She was eventually taken into custody on suspicion of battery on a police officer. The officers suffered cuts during the scuffle, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.
