H.B. police investigate pedestrian death

Huntington Beach officials are investigating the cause of a crash that left a pedestrian dead.

Robonna De Nies, 71, of Huntington Beach, died Saturday after a pickup truck hit her near Five Points Plaza, according to the Orange County coroner's office.

Police officers and firefighters responded to Main and Florida streets at 11:25 a.m. and found De Nies lying partially underneath a black Toyota Tundra, according to a press release from Huntington Beach police.

She was transported to UCI Medical Center, where she died from her injuries at 12:20 p.m., according to the coroner's office.

Police interviewed the truck's driver, who was later released. No arrests or citations were made.
