Woman injured in wetlands crash

A driver who may have been drinking ended up in the Bolsa Chica Wetlands early Tuesday, according to Huntington Beach police.

Around 12:18 a.m., a woman's car crashed near the end of Springdale Street, which abuts the eastern portion of the wetlands, Lt. Kent Ferrin said.

The solo-vehicle wreck caused significant damage to the car, and paramedics airlifted the woman to UCI Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Ferrin declined to release the driver's name but said she'd been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
