Curiosity looks toward Mt. Sharp

An image Curiosity took of Mt. Sharp, a 3.4-mile high mountain in the center of the Gale Crater. The rover is expected to climb partway up the mountain as it explores Martian terrain. The site is named for the late Robert Sharp, who headed the geology department at Caltech. Caltech, in Pasadena, manages JPL for NASA.
