Lanterman Auditorium will be teeming with activity Sunday when the La Cañada Girl Scouts Service Unit holds its annual Gold, Silver & Bronze Award ceremony.

The event, which gets underway at 4 p.m., will also honor those bridging to Adult Scout status.

More than 20 La Cañada teens this year earned the prestigious Gold Award, Girl Scouts’ highest achievement. The local unit is known for encouraging its members to develop their leadership skills. About 1,000 girls participate in La Cañada’s 100 Girl Scout troops, assisted by about 700 adult volunteers.

A reception for those honored Sunday will immediately follow the ceremony. Lanterman Auditorium is located at 4491 Cornishon Ave.
