A motocyclist was injured in La Cañada Flintridge on Wednesday night after getting caught in clear duct tape that was hung on Oak Grove Drive, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. on Oak Grove near Foothill Boulevard, said Sgt. Gary Ogurek of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The duct tape was hung approximately four feet in the air, he said. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, he added.

Ogurek said the incident is part of a growing crime trend, fueled by people posting videos of duct tape pranks on YouTube.

“This is very dangerous,” he said.

Deputies have seen the duct tape in other location in the area, he said. The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is being asked to call the sheriff’s station at (818) 248-3464.
