BROOKINGS - The tenth annual SDSU Jackrabbit Dairy camp will be June 20-22 at South Dakota State University. The South Dakota State University Dairy Club is sponsoring this event for youth between the ages 8-18 who want to enhance their dairy cattle skills and learn about the dairy industry. Participants from all states are welcome to attend.
Dairy Club past President and counselor, April Johnson stated The Dairy Camp is a great place for the youth to learn about the dairy industry. The participants learn about both sides of the industry; production and manufacturing. They learn about clipping, showmanship, and judging while also learning about proper care for animals. There are also dairy manufacturing activities, including learning to judge dairy products. Dairy Camp is a place where campers can put their showmanship and judging skills to the test.
