Boyle County Alzheimer’s Family Caregiver Training — 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 28 at at the Boyle County Extension Service office, 99 Corporate Drive. Program is for those who have a friend or family member who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Local and statewide experts in aging and Alzheimer’s care will present on the disease, caregiving basics, legal decisions and how to care for the caregiver. Caregiver Connection Series: Helping Your Loved One Complete the Journey — 1-4:15 p.m. Sept. 12 and 19 at the Madison County Public Library, 319 Chestnut St., Berea. The late stage program is specialized for family caregivers and will offer information about Alzheimer’s disease and caregiving. It will also provide an opportunity to gain a new perspective on caring for a loved one that is nearing the end of their journey in Alzheimer’s. Local experts from Hospice Care Plus, Central Baptist Hospital, the VA, and the Alzheimer’s Association will present topics that are valuable to family caregivers of persons with dementia.
