MORELAND - Bertie Jeffries, 100, of Hustonville died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013.
Born Sept. 27, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Ida Coffman Murphy.
Bertie was a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church for 85 years where she taught women’s Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin “Red” Jeffries, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Samuel Glenn (Della) Jeffries; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Jeffries of Liberty, Samuel Alan (Tracy) Jeffries of Lexington and Shannon (Natalie) Cooley of Elizabethtown; and four great-grandchildren, Jenna Bender, Derek Sallee and Emily and Reid Jeffries.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Mike Mullins and Bro. Kevin Pittman. Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Elliott Jr., Otis Gene Delk, Bobby Jeffries, Durward Jeffries, Alan Jeffries and Shannon Cooley.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
