JUNCTION¿CITY — George David Coontz, 47, of Junction City, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012.
Born Aug. 7, 1964 in Elizabethton, Tenn., he was a son of JoAnn Hensley Coontz and the late George Albert Coontz, and the husband of Betty Jean Bolin Coontz. He was a manager at Good Neighbor Pharmacy and an assistant pastor at the House of Prayer in Junction City. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and loved his grandchildren. He loved serving the Lord, the Boyle County High School Rebels, going to the movies, collecting sports cards, traveling and singing with the Coontz Brothers, playing the keyboard and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Misty Coontz (Gary) Nyman and Brittany Coontz; a son, Joshua David “Josh” Coontz; two sisters, Pam Hatter and Gail King; and eight brothers, Timmy, Jody, Philip, Wayne, Buddy, Larry, Darrell and Harvey Coontz. He was the Poppi of Olivia Grace Nyman and Tucker Lee Nyman.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center in Junction City. Bro. Jody Coontz will officiate. Pallbearers will be Josh Coontz, Phillip Reed, Gary Nyman, Cody Miller, Michael Hatter, Aaron Coontz, Daniel Richardson, Raymond Float, Harvey Logsdon, Jesse Hensley, Robbie Mattingly, Tony Turner and Zach Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be the Boyle County High School football team, Nick Wilson, Jackie Wayne Bolin, Walter Hester, George Crawley, T.C. Propes Sr., Dr. Derek Weiss and the nursing/respiratory staff of Central Baptist, Morgan Wilson and Adam Boyd.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.
