Marjorie Jane Rollman Forsyth, 85, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.
Born Oct. 2, 1927, in Ellwood City, Pa., she was a daughter of the late W. P. and Miriam Mundhenk Rollman.
Mrs. Forsyth was a 39-year resident of Danville, an avid reader, enjoyed painting with acrylics, was a graduate of Westminster College, and taught school in both Ellwood City and Danville. She was a member and held offices in numerous organizations, including Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, Garden Club, College Club, several bridge clubs, Girl Scouts, Cub Scout den mother and homemakers. She especially was proud of her membership in Daughters of the American Revolution and she was a member of The Presbyterian Church, Danville.
Survivors include her husband, E. John Forsyth, whom she wed in 1950; two daughters, Joyce Seale of Christchurch, New Zealand, and Mary “Beth” Wischer and her husband, Keith, of Grafton, Wis.; and a son, John Forsyth, and his wife, Heidi, of Batavia, Ill.
She was proud of her seven grandchildren, R. Brent (Yehwon) Seale of Australia, Drew (Erin) Wischer and Blake Wischer, both of Connecticut, Chris Forsyth (Theresa) of Pennsylvania, Matthew Forsyth and Michael Forsyth, both of Illinois, and Kara Wischer of Wisconsin; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. James Stewart officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family of Mrs. Forsyth would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Charleston Health Care for the attention she received. In memory and celebration of her life, memorial contributions are suggested to the Daughters of the American Revolution.
