CRAB ORCHARD — Robert Eugene Griffith, 76, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
He was the widower of Mildred Hoover Griffith.
Born Aug. 24, 1936, in Lexington, Ky., he was a son of the late Preston and Gertrude Curtis Griffith. He was a member of Dix River Pentecostal Church. He was a farmer and a retired employee of Lexington Humane Society.
Survivors include five children, Margaret (Mike) Franchere, Barbara (the late Leroy) Lyons, Cathy (Greg) Bowman, Robin (David) Bennett and Carl (Lisa) Griffith; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Gladys Griffith.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Woodard; son-in-law, Leroy Lyons; and brothers, Billy and Harold Lee Griffith.
Services will be noon Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel By Bro. Donald Lear. Burial will be in the Griffith Family Cemetery on the family farm.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Lyons, Daniel Derringer, Alex Derringer, Dustin Derringer, Carl Joseph Griffith and Cody Levi Holt
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Sallee and Greg Bowman.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at McKnight Funeral Home.
