LANCASTER — Russell C. Meadors, 83, of Maplewood Drive, passed away Sunday June 19, 2011, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical¿Center in Danville, Ky. He was the husband of Hazel Holtzclaw Meadors.
Born Jan. 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Emery and Sally Clark Meadors. Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict. He was retired from IBM after many years of service and eventually opened his own business, Napa Auto Parts, in Lancaster. Russell was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church.
Other survivors include his son, Jeff Meadors (Cathy) of Lancaster; a brother, Harold Meadows (Dell) of Lancaster; two sisters, Dorothy Casey of Nicholasville and Doris Price (Bob) of Richmond; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Duncan Meadors; and two granddaughters, Tiffany and Lindsey Meadors of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by a brother, W.C. Meadors.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Spurlin Funeral Home in Lancaster with the Rev. Michael York officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Haroletha Klausing, Mike Casey, Gary Price, Greg Meadors, George Peek and Greg Young. Honorary pallbearers are Donna Peek, Ramsey Peek, Kim Young, Chase Ballard and Sarah Goens.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
