Paul Smiley is well qualified to be a Danville City Commissioner. Mr. Smiley has degrees from the University of Maryland, American University and McDaniel College. He continued to update his education by taking additional college courses and training during his career. His certification in school administration and supervision seems especially applaudable to a city commissioner.

Mr. Smiley worked for The Kentucky School for the Deaf for 28 years before retiring in 2007. His most recent position was assistant principal, athletic director, transportation director and as facility use coordinator. Prior to coming to KSD Mr. Smiley worked for years at Model Secondary School for the Deaf, Gallaudet University and for two-and-a-half years for the District of Columbia Public Schools, Bell and Burdick schools.

Mr. Smiley served on the Danville school board for 13 years, the city of Danville ethics board for two years and the Danville/Boyle Count Literary Council and GED program for eight years. These are just a few of the examples of his interest in the progress of Danville and Boyle County.

As I said at the start of this letter, Mr. Smiley is well qualified to be a city commissioner and deserves to be elected.
