Five for Friday: Five Orioles silver linings
Watching their season go up in flames, the last-place Orioles have stopped, dropped and are now rolling into the All-Star Break. They are 13 games below .500 and 15 behind the Yankees in the AL East. The blue skies we saw over Camden Yards at the home opener have been replaced by smoke clouds, but those clouds do have a few silver linings. In this week's Five for Friday, Matt Vensel of Baltimore Sports Blitz lists five of them.

4. Two offseason trades paid off( The Baltimore Sun )
The offseason signings of Vladimir Guerrero, Derrek Lee and Kevin Gregg haven't panned out like the Orioles had hoped, but president of baseball ops Andy MacPhail deserves props for acquiring shortstop J.J. Hardy and third baseman Mark Reynolds via trade. They have combined for 33 homers and 82 RBIs, providing the pop the left side of the infield has lacked in recent seasons. But will both be here after the trade deadline?
