A man who jumped off a bridge in the Chicago River this morning in the South Loop neighborhood died after being taken to hospital in critical condition, officials said.
It happened at 9:20 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Lumber Street when the man jumped off a bridge into the river, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
He was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, according to the fire department.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, later died, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
