Detectives issued an alert this afternoon, warning of armed robberies to two hair salons in the Lincoln Park area in recent days.

The robberies happened about 5:40 p.m. at a salon in the 1200 block of West Fullerton Avenue on Saturday, and about 5 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Fullerton on Sunday, according to an alert from Chicago Police Area Central detectives.

In both robberies, a man entered the salon, put a duffel bag on the counter, and shown a handgun. He then announced a robbery and fled on foot after getting cash, according to the alert.

Police described the man as Hispanic, with a light complexion, standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 and weighing between 150 to 165 pounds. He was wearing a red jacket and a gray skull cap.
