Emergency crews rushed to rescue a window washer after someone reported he was stuck about 50 stories above the Loop this morning, but it turned out he didn't need any help, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Emergency crews were called to the high rise at 70 W. Madison St. at 11:45 a.m., according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.

Firefighters got to the scene and communicated with the worker, who said he was not in trouble, according to Knight, who initially said the worker had to be rescued.

“He did not need assistance,’’ Knight said.
