Someone standing on a corner shot two teens this afternoon in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The shooting occurred at 3:12 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Rockwell Street, said police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.
A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, while an 18-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, said O’Brien.
The younger of the two was later released while the older was taken into surgery. Police said the pair, both gang members, were shot as they approached a corner.
The Chicago Fire Department said both of their conditions had stabilized.
