A 55-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in an apparent domestic dispute in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said.

A 55-year-old woman died Saturday night after being stabbed multiple times in an apparent domestic dispute on the South Side, police said.
The woman's daughter was later taken into custody, police said.
Police were called to a home in the 8300 block of South Kingston Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood about 6:45 p.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The 55-year-old woman, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Angela Welch, had been stabbed multiple times and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was pronounced dead there at 7:26 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
The woman's 25-year-old daughter fled before police arrived and was later taken into custody, Greer said.
No charges had been filed as of early Sunday.
