SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Chicago Blackhawks won't know until shortly before game time if defenseman Brent Seabrook will be in the lineup against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night at HP Pavilion.
The defenseman has missed three consecutive games with a lower-body injury suffered Nov. 13 against the Edmonton Oilers when the veteran lost an edge and went skates-first into the boards.
"(Seabrook) is going to give it a a go during warmups," coach Joel Quenneville said following the Hawks' morning skate.
The news was more encouraging for Michael Frolik as Quenneville said the winger was "likely" to play after missing two games with a left shoulder injury sustained Nov. 16 against the Vancouver Canucks.
Corey Crawford will be in goal as the Hawks look to rebound from consecutive blowout losses against the Calgary Flames and Oilers. Former Hawks netminder Antti Niemi will man the crease for the Sharks.
