Chicago Tribune critics Chris Jones and Nina Metz, entertainment editor Scott Powers, and reporter Mark Caro recap the Playground Theater production of 'The TomKat Project.' Recorded live from the Chicago Tribune newsroom on March 19, 2013.
"The TomKat Project," a satiric comedy by Brandon Ogborn that runs through May 29 at the Playground Theater, has been accepted to play at the New York International Fringe Festival in August.
"TomKat" is an examination of pop culture through the lens of one of the stranger celebrity marriages of the 21st century; it imagines the backroom dealings that led to the marriage and divorce of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Read the four-star review in the Tribune here. The Fringe Festival has been a notable launching ground over the years. It was where Chicago-trained writers Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann debuted "Urinetown."
