Houston was more redemptive this time around. The traffic was not nearly as bad and the humidity decided to take a break. We have a lot of good friends in Houston so we got to experience a bit more in the city than we normally do. We had a great radio visit in the morning with Mix 96.5. After that it was lunch time.

Lunch was Star Pizza. A few friends had suggested that we check it out and it was definitely worth it. The pizza was good and the atmosphere was interesting. This place looked like it was in someone's house and the vibe was laid back.

While in Houston, we checked out the Menil Collection, which is a very intimate art museum. The free admission and great art was refreshing. The building itself is not flashy and allows for a surprisingly personal experience. After the museum went to Hermann Park for some chill time before our sound check. The park is huge and beautiful! There are tons of awesome fountains and statues and even a cool little choo choo train to ride!

After sound check we went to Westheimer where there are a bunch of really awesome thrift shops, like Taxi Taxi and Buffalo Exchange. We found some really awesome, retro clothes that we almost wore on stage at the show. If you need something groovy to wear to your next theme party, I highly suggest Taxi Taxi.

The show was amazing at House of Blues. It was an almost capacity show in their Bronze Peacock Room. The staff at House of Blues any where in the country really takes care of the musicians so we always love playing there any chance we get. The crowd was incredible and the Mix station in Houston, 96.5 FM, has been amazing to us. So we love getting to visit with them. It was also Josh's birthday so we had a little birthday party before we went on stage. Everybody likes them some cake, right!?

After House of Blues we ended the night at Agora Café. Its this tiny little Greek inspired coffee house and bar. The place had such a cool yet cozy vibe to it and was the perfect way to end the night. If you are ever in Houston, the Montrose/Westheimer area is definitely a must; there are just so many cool places to go in that area!
