MORELAND — S.C. Reed, 85, of Casey County, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Born Dec. 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Dillie Peyton Reed. He was a farmer, and had owned and operated a saw mill. He loved gardening and playing music, especially fiddle and guitar.
S.C. was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Overstreet Reed.
Survivors include his three daughters, Brenda (David) Watson of Erlanger, Carolyn (Brian) Walker of Mooresville, Ind., and Barb (A.C.) Richards of Casey County; two brothers, James Reed and Ralph “Jim” Reed, both of Casey County; six grandchildren, Suzanne Cobia, Steve Watson, Rhonda Quintia, Darrin Wilkinson, Shelly Ham and Travis Knight; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mae; three sisters; a brother; and a great-great grandchild, Brayden.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Jerry Adams. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Watson, A.C. Richards, Brian Walker, Steve Watson, Darrin Wilkinson and Travis Knight. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Atwood, Jack Robinson, Shirley Richards, E.P. Richards, Bill Brown and Elza King.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.
