Search continues in South L.A. neighborhood for infant remains

Investigators planned to continue their search Monday for body parts in a Westmont neighborhood where the dismembered body of an infant was found. How the days-old infant’s body came to be dumped in the residential neighborhood is still unknown, said Deputy Amber Smith of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. A young girl playing with her dog Saturday morning made the gruesome discovery in the 1500 block of West 104th Street, KTLA reported. She was playing ball with her dog before church when she found the infant’s leg in her home backyard.
