Homicide investigators in Long Island, N.Y., are investigating the discovery of a dismembered body and other scattered human remains found in two towns earlier this month.
On July 8, police found the partially dismembered body of a woman in a parking lot in Bay Shore shortly before 7 a.m., according to a news release from the Suffolk County Police Department.
Authorities have not identified the woman. But the Associated Press, citing an unnamed law enforcement source, said a tattoo on the body parts matched one belonging to a missing Brooklyn woman.
