You don't have to travel to the North Pole to visit Santa's Village this holiday season, you can have the same experience right in Torrington.
Carl Bozenski's Christmas Village has been lighting up Connecticut for 64 years. The employees of Torrington's Parks and Recreation Department prepare for months to make this a special experience for children. Santa and Mrs. Claus both make a visit as the elves are busy at work in a work shop filled with dolls, stuffed animals and trains. Outside, 4 real-life reindeer greet the crowd from their pens.
Be prepared for a wait, the Christmas Village often sports long lines because up to 30,000 people travel to Litchfield County each year to witness this two-week event.
The Christmas Village is located at 150 Church Street in Torrington. It will be open everyday between December 11tand the 23 from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the village will be open from 9 a.m. until noon before it closes for the season. Entrance to the village is free.
