Ansell's four goals power NS victory

Chasity Dupont, Allie Swihura and Haley Eubanks tacked on solo goals for the surging Lady Cougars. Swihura and Karlee Moyer (2) were credited with assists.
“It was a fantastic win today because it was the 100th win for North Star coaching staff and team,” North Star coach Renee Lepley said. “It is very exciting. It says a lot about my team and past players that I’ve had the opportunity to coach. I'm very proud of my team. They are an amazing group of young ladies.”
North Star outshot Berlin on goal 25-11.
North Star (15-1-1) finishes off the regular season today at home against Northern Bedford. The loss drops Berlin to 10-6 on the season.
Rockwood 8, Salisbury 1
SALISBURY — Cody Sterner’s four goals powered Rockwood’s 8-1 victory over Salisbury in boys varsity soccer Monday.
Darian Moore, Armando Steele and Brandon Miller contributed solo goals for the Rockets while Brad Lemmon assisted on five goals and Sterner and Steele had one assist each.
Andrew Miller scored Salisbury’s lone goal.
Rockwood (10-6-2) will compete in the first round of the District 5 playoffs on Saturday. Pairings will be announced later this week.
Windber 4, JCS 0
WINDBER — Jake Hanley and Gray Bryan scored two goals each to highlight Windber’s 4-0 victory over Johnstown Christian School in boys varsity soccer Monday.
Hanley (2), Bryan (1) and Lucas Leitenberger (1) were credited with assists while Garrett Walerysiak earned the shutout in goal for the 10-6-1 Ramblers.
CT 12, Berlin 0
DAVIDSVILLE — Conemaugh Township closed out a 15-2-1 regular season with a dominating 12-0 victory over Berlin Monday in boys varsity soccer.
Ben Wilson fired in four goals to power the Indians’ offensive attack. Jake Sauter and Nick Felton each netted two goals while Eli Wenger, James Bassette, Raul Lodano and Sebastian Ebbers also scored. Keeper Jeff Callihan was credited with the shutout.
The Indians will enter the District 5 Class A playoffs on Saturday.
