Ryan Michael DeShane was chosen as the Lions student of the month for March. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John DeShane of Somerset, and he is enrolled in the academic course.
His extracurricular activities include marching band, National Forensics League (Public Forum Debate), Scholastic Quiz Team, district band, regional band, district orchestra, district jazz, student council and National Honor Society.
DeShane was section leader of low brass in the marching band and first chair trombone in concert band and orchestra.
Outside of school he is involved with Somerset Anglican Fellowship, Crossroads Youth Ministry, and general stocking at Cascio's Fruit Market.
He plans to either attend the University of Pittsburgh or Georgia University of Technology to pursue a career in computer science. After college he wants to find a programming job.
His hobbies are reading, general Internet research, and spending time with friends.
