Glenn Elwood Durst, 87, of Fort Hill, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Kamp’s Personal Care Home, Markleysburg. Born July 18, 1925, in Fort Hill, he was the son of the late George Josiah and Sarah (Turney) Durst. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Alice (Wable) Durst; a daughter, Sandra Sue (Durst) Knapp and two sisters, Garna Walker and Irene Wisseman. Mr. Durst was a farmer and a crane operator for Keystone Lime Co. He is survived by four sons, Thomas G. Durst and wife, Anna and Donald R. Durst and wife, Mary Beth, all of Meyersdale; John A. Durst and wife, Peggy, Casselman; Douglas L. Durst, Fort Hill; two daughters, Gloria Jean Knapp and husband, Clyde, Warren; Shirley I. Branson, Havelock, N.C.; a sister, Viola Meyers, Mt. Airy, Md.; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Brown officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Hill.
