SOMERSET—A 36-year-old pizza delivery man exposed himself to several juveniles April 13 at the Glades Pike Trailer Court in Somerset Township, according to state police.
Joseph A. Deem, Berlin, was charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and open lewdness.
According to police, Deem was driving through the trailer court when he pulled alongside three juveniles with his genitals exposed. After approaching the vehicle, the juveniles screamed, ran away and told their parents and a female witness.
On April 20 the female witness saw a man delivering pizzas from the same vehicle. She contacted her neighbor, found out where the pizza was ordered and called the general manager of Papa John’s Pizza. The manager then called the police and identified the driver, police said.
Deem told police he could remember being in the trailer park on numerous occasions, but never exposed himself intentionally. He said he has a medical condition that requires him to frequently relieve himself, according to a probable-cause affidavit.
Deem was arraigned Saturday evening before Meyersdale District Judge Douglas McCall Bell and posted the $1,500 bond on the same day. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 1 before Somerset District Judge Ken Johnson.
