Tree tapping
The Somerset County Maple Producers Association annual tree tapping ceremony is 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at Wagner Sugar Camp, 285 Tub Mill Run Road, Salisbury. Pa. Maple Queen LXII Rachel Elder and this year’s maple princesses will be there. Maple King Matthew Emerick will officially tap a maple tree to begin the 2011 sugaring season. WJAC news anchor Lauren Melvin is special guest. Free candy and baked goods.
