    Update:  A letter from New York Wire’s President & CEO to the Bureau of Workforce Investment, Rapid Response Coordination Services states New York Wire will be conducting a mass layoff at its facilities located at 441 E. Market St., York, PA; 829 Loucks Mill Rd., York, PA; and 500 E. Middle St., Hanover, PA.  About 170 of the company’s 385 employees will be laid off.  It’s stated the reduction is due to the market driven globalization of the company and is expected to be permanent.
