1. Bill Clinton is a Father of the Year; Lady Gaga is a bridesmaid

Chelsea Clinton surprised her dad, former President Clinton, by presenting him with a trophy Tuesday at the 72nd Father of the Year Awards luncheon in New York City. Other honorees included Macy's Inc. Chief Executive Terry J. Lundgren and Army Maj. Jackson Drumgoole II, a father of five from Dupont, Wash. Though she praised her father, Chelsea also confessed that as a schoolgirl she told her classmates her dad was a "fry guy at McDonalds," WWD reported. She said she figured that would make her more popular than if she admitted he was governor of Arkansas. [WWD]

  7. Is Miranda Kerr being fired as a Victoria's Secret angel?

The rumor mill is in overdrive after a report that Victoria's Secret is dumping Miranda Kerr, one of its best-known lingerie modeling angels (and wife of hunky Orlando Bloom). Her contract was being terminated, according to some reports, because of her alleged "difficult reputation." But a Victoria's Secret official said she is a "consummate professional" and that she has agreed to walk in the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. [Los Angeles Times]

  13. Peter Philips makes his colorful mark on Chanel

One of the biggest beauty breakthroughs in recent years involves the rise of funky nail polish colors — blue, green, gray, even black — which have become socially acceptable for almost all women, no matter their age or occupation. That development is due, in part, to Peter Philips, global creative director of Chanel Makeup, who has made the company's seasonal nail shades as hotly sought after as its handbags.
