LANCASTER — James A. “Jimmy” Crutchfield, 78, died Thursday, June 14, 2012.  

Born May 30, 1934, he was a son of the late John and Elriee Crutchfield. He was an active member and deacon at Lancaster Baptist Church.  Jimmy was a farmer, and worked for the Garrard County Board of Education, Lancaster Housing Authority and Walmart of Stanford for many years.  

Surviving family include his wife of 56 years, Willena; two sons, Greg (Heidi) Crutchfield and Chris (Rhonda) Crutchfield, both of Lancaster; three grandsons, Kevin, Spencer and Slade Crutchfield; two granddaughters, Morgan and Madison Crutchfield; a sister, Vivian Rice of Owensboro; and a brother, Ron Crutchfield of Boyle County. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Crutchfield; and two sisters, Wilma Pollard and Delsie Herring.  

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2011, at Lancaster Baptist Church with the Revs. Stephen Brogli, Harold Best and Bill Rhodus officiating. 

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home of Lancaster. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.  

Active pallbearers will be Kevin, Spencer, Slade, John, Randy and Ron Crutchfield. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ballard Sunday School Class, Bobby Young, Shelton Moss, John Clark, Pete Jeffries, Jeff Hester, Rusty Clark, Lamont Hocker and Chris Steffen. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lancaster Baptist Church Youth.
