The Chicago Dancing Festival, a free showcase from a diverse group of professional dance ensembles, expands to five days this year in celebration of CDF's five-year anniversary. Besides programs from modern dance and ballet companies, the fest also includes screenings of dance films, lectures, panel discussions and demonstrations. Participating ensembles include Chicago's Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Joffrey Ballet and River North Dance Chicago and from New York, Martha Graham Dance Company, New York City Ballet and Lar Lubovitch Dance Company (founder and artistic director Lar Lubovitch is co-producer of CDF with dancer Jay Franke).
