NANTY GLO — Johnny Sheesley kicked a 26-yard field goal in overtime to give Blacklick Valley a hard-fought 31-28 victory over visiting Conemaugh Township on Friday night in a Week 5 WestPAC matchup.
Sheesley also accounted for four touchdowns on the night — two rushing and two passing — for the Vikings. He finished with 83 yards rushing on 23 carries and completed 5 of 15 passes for 162 yards.
Conemaugh Township was powered by Tanner Cahill, who toted the pigskin 31 times for 150 yards and one TD.
Through the air, Indians quarterback Bruno Rosa was 6 of 11 for 76 yards and one TD — a 19-yard scoring strike to Jeff Fisher in the second quarter. Rosa also ran for a pair of touchdowns.
Conemaugh Township's defense was led by Cahill, who had six solo tackles, four assists and one fumble recovery. Ken Domonkos made seven solo tackles, assisted on another and recovered a fumble.
The contest was delayed for several minutes because the field had to be repaired.
The Indians (2-3) entertain rival Windber next Friday night.
