  8. Tony noms fete Broadway's year of the biography

If there's any doubt that we're living in a golden age of creative nonfiction, the nominations for this year's Tonys, which will be awarded Sunday night, should squelch it.
If there's any doubt that we're living in a golden age of creative nonfiction, the nominations for this year's Tonys, which will be awarded Sunday night, should squelch it. Have there ever been more actors nominated for playing real-life characters?...

  10. Movie review: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans -- 2 out of 5 stars

It takes a few minutes to get the mind and the eyes around the fact that, yes, that's the great Brit-thespian Michael Sheen, impersonator of Tony Blair (The Deal, The Queen) and David Frost (Frost/Nixon) transforming into a werewolf in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. But it is Sheen, all buff and hairy and toothy, giving his all in a struggle with vampire Bill Nighy over the vamp's fanged daughter, played by Rhona Mitra.

  12. Spot the filmmaker's obsession

Joyful, choreographed dance numbers staged in crumbling Mumbai train stations are not how most American films end. Yet when just such a scene crops up in " Slumdog Millionaire," the moment is perfectly apt.

  14. Frank Langella steps into Nixon's shoes for 'Frost/Nixon'

Veteran actor Frank Langella first stepped into former President Richard M. Nixon's shoes in 2006 with Peter Morgan's "Frost/Nixon" on the London stage. The play, which chronicled the preparations, negotiations and shooting of the famed 1977 interviews between Nixon and British TV journalist David Frost ( Michael Sheen), was an unbridled success. The following year, Langella and Sheen reprised their roles on Broadway, earning Langella, 71, the Tony Award for actor in a play.

  16. 'Frost/Nixon'

You don't even need a mental image of Ron Howard to know that "Frost/Nixon" was made -- and made well -- by a very nice man. Richard M. Nixon is unlikely ever to get more sympathetic treatment on screen. David Frost's people paid Nixon's people $600,...

Richard M. Nixon once said, "You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore . . . " It wasn't true, of course. That was in 1962 when he'd just lost a gubernatorial election. He came back to be elected president twice. And especially since his resignation on...
