3. NBC Thursday Fall TV Premiere Night: More Exciting Than Christmas

Or whatever day/holiday/event you got most excited for as a kid. That's how I feel about the return of most of my favorite NBC shows for their fall seasons (except "30 Rock," which comes back in early 2012). "Community," "Parks and Recreation" and "The Office" all came back to hang out with me in my living room, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Spoilers below, so if you haven't watched your favorite shows yet, now's a good time to go read something else (or just watch them already!).

5. A Little Help

This is the first time I’ve ever written a review a year after seeing the actual film. Years ago I’ve had to write a short synopsis of movies when compiling my year end lists. With this movie, I caught it at a film festival and haven’t rewatched it since.

11. Today’s screening: A Little Help

Frankly My Dear - Orlando Sentinel
It's a phrase common on the tennis court. The ball skitters onto another court or soars over a fence and you ask somebody else to return it. “A Little Help,” please? But how does it fit into a wistful romance/character study tailor made for...

13. Today’s second interview: Jenna Fischer

Frankly My Dear - Orlando Sentinel
The adorable dork next door on TV's “The Office” has her first starring role in a (somewhat) major motion picture, “A Little Help.” And I'm talking with Jenna Fischer about her turn in this winning semi-indie dramedy. She plays a...

15. EXCLUSIVE: How Jenna Fischer got drunk for ‘A Little Help’

Frankly My Dear - Orlando Sentinel
Actors suffer for their art. They do. Especially when they're doing a low-budget movie as a labor of love. Jenna Fischer of TV's “The Office” and the February comedy “Hall Pass” put it all on the line for “A Little Help,&#...

17. EXCLUSIVE: Jenna Fischer faces her future — a baby boy, and maybe a movie career?

Frankly My Dear - Orlando Sentinel
There’s an image Jenna Fischer has cultivated as the shy, winsome Pam on the long-running TV series “The Office.” And even as she breaks into movies with co-starring roles in “Hall Pass” and the lead role in this summer&#...

Frankly My Dear - Orlando Sentinel
Jenna Fischer talks directly to the camera in early scenes in “A Little Help.” She lets us see the life that's overwhelming her, the bitterness that threatens to swallow her whole and the irritation she's trying her darnedest to hide. As...

23. Who should replace Carell on 'The Office'? And other NBC press tour notes

The Watcher
This week, much of the TV industry is speculating on who will judge the next season of "American Idol." That's certainly a story, but I prefer to ignore the speculation about alleged judge candidates until Monday, when Fox will make its presentation to...
