The Grand Old Lady of Laguna has no need for a facelift, but recently the Hotel Laguna's interior underwent an "up-do." Georgia Andersen presided over the Oct. 13 rededication of the hotel to celebrate the extensive remodeling of its interior. The...

  11. Mass wedding recalls Elkton's claim to fame

    Special To The Sun
Seventy years ago, the small town of Elkton was the marriage capital of the East Coast. Wedding chapels lined Main Street like a miniature Las Vegas strip (minus the casinos, of course). Today, the Historic Little Wedding Chapel is Elkton's sole...

  13. Scorsese finally joins the club

Having won the Oscar for best picture, "The Departed" will always, from here to eternity, have an aura of distinction, like a suave white-haired gent gliding into the Governors Ball in his tuxedo.

  15. Movie Review: The Women

In "The Women," suburban wife and mother Mary Haines comes to see the error of trying to be all things to all people. It's too bad that the film she's in didn't learn the same lesson and instead tries way too hard be everything for all women. "The Women"...

  17. Her return engagement

Olivia de Hallivand, the last remaining great Hollywood star of both the golden '30s and '40s, is an irresistible woman. When the subject of birthdays comes up in the middle of an interview, she looks the writer straight in the eye and declares, "I'm old enough to be your mother!," promptly brushing aside all polite demurrals. There's something at once amusing and touching when the remark is directed at a man on the cusp of 70 and comes from a movie star who's about to turn 90. Clearly the truthfulness that characterizes De Havilland's acting comes from the woman herself.

  19. 'Jane Eyre' given sensual treatment on 'Masterpiece Theatre'

Charlotte Bronte's most famous orphan, "Jane Eyre," gets one of its most sensual treatments yet over the next two Sundays on "Masterpiece Theatre" (9 p.m. EST, PBS), but four hours is a lot to dedicate to a well-worn classic whose melodrama too often drags. The production, adapted from Bronte's 1847 gothic romance, originally aired on the BBC last year.
