  3. Seahawks Make Trade With 49ers For DT Balmer

    The Seattle Seahawks have traded a 2011 undisclosed draft choice to the San Francisco 49ers for defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer, the team announced this afternoon.
"We have strong connections to the 49ers and it is our understanding that Kentwan is ready to play football and in need of a fresh start," said General Manager John Schneider.
Balmer was the 29th overall selection out of North Carolina in the 2008 NFL Draft. He played in 27 games with 40 tackles (13 solo) and one pass defensed in his first two seasons. 
"We see a lot of upside in Kentwan and are excited to add him to our defense," added Schneider.
