John Singleton and co-writer Eric Amadio are exploring the early days of America's crack cocaine epidemic through the intersecting stories of three different people in the new FX pilot, "Snowfall."
The cable channel announced it had ordered the pilot on Friday, although that doesn’t necessarily guarantee the series will be picked up. Singleton, who has two Oscar nominations for his debut feature, "Boyz n the Hood," will direct the pilot.
Set in Los Angeles in 1981, the pilot will show how the crack cocaine epidemic first took hold in our society and began to make its mark.
