  1. Movie review: 'Rent'

    Tribune arts critic

  3. Fast-Paised review: 'Rent'

Big question: Broadway really cranks out the musical blockbusters, but Rob Marshall's "Chicago" is the only recent production to really deliver onscreen. Can Chris Columbus' version of "Rent" pay proper dues to the operatic bohemian rhapsody? Skip it:...

  9. NBC's 'Will & Grace' is assured a long life

NBC has renewed comedy "Will & Grace" through the 2004-05 season. Reports say the network is paying as much as $4 million an episode to retain the 2000 Emmy-winner for best comedy (8 p.m. Thursdays), which is averaging more than 17 million viewers this...

  13. The life and rhymes of Sondheim

    Sun Theater Critic
Stephen Sondheim has told the story so often, it's nearly a legend. When he was 15, he showed Oscar Hammerstein a musical he had written with two fellow students. He was, he admits, naive enough to think it was worth putting on professionally....
