  5. Prepare for a new chick-flick migration

The film version of Elizabeth Gilbert's 2006 best-selling memoir "Eat Pray Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia" may do more than just woo women to the box office. This Julia Roberts-starring "chick flick," which hit U.S. movie theaters in August, very well may inspire some of them to hit the road just as the newly divorced Gilbert did during her year of self-discovery.

  11. Groupon CEO's Resignation Letter Goes Viral

Groupon CEO Andrew Mason was terminated on Thursday of last week, which isn&rsquo;t a huge shock considering the company&rsquo;s declining value. What <em>is</em> interesting is Mason&rsquo;s goodbye letter to the company. In a world of publicists and generic corporate statements, Mason&rsquo;s letter stands out as surprisingly straightforward, honest and funny. He even stole one of my greatest ideas. Since I entered the business world I&rsquo;ve always wanted to resign in two different ways. One, by citing &ldquo;creative differences,&rdquo; and two, by declaring that I would spend no additional time with my family. Here&rsquo;s Mason&rsquo;s full letter (<a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/on-leadership/fired-groupon-ceos-refreshingly-blunt-memo-to-employees/2013/02/28/a5c9f584-820a-11e2-b99e-6baf4ebe42df_story.html" target="_blank">via the Washington Post</a>):

  13. How Oscars' fashion show changed through the decades

The Academy Awards are the biggest fashion runway on the planet. When Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and other stars step out onto the red carpet Sunday, they will be primed to talk as much about what and who they are wearing as about the films that got them there.

  15. Is it vintage or just vintage-inspired?

Tory Varney donned the 80-year-old silk organdy gown replete with spaghetti straps and several dozen hook-and-eye closures cascading down the back moments after the vintage dress was unpacked by employees at the Way We Wore boutique in Los Angeles.

  17. Eat, pray, love — and shop

Fans of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir-turned-movie "Eat Pray Love" won't have to settle for a dog-eared book or a ticket stub as the only mementos of their literary and cinematic journeys through Italy, India and Bali. A massive amount of related merchandise has already been unleashed on the public: handbags, jewelry, journals, tea, fragrance, furniture and something called "firming serum" (which might be part of the "pray" portion).

  19. Stars who shine bright on the red carpet

Fashion critics will be busy putting together their best-dressed lists as celebrities hit the red carpet for the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday afternoon. And while everyone is eager to see which Armani Prive gown or Marchesa confection actresses will wear this year, we can't forget about the hair and makeup, because what's a gown without a glowing face and perfect chignon to top it all off?

  21. Holiday gifts fit for a fairy tale

Once upon a time &mdash; and by that we mean just a few months ago &mdash; it was the old-school horror genre that was being dusted off and repurposed into 21st century popular culture replete with wizards, werewolves, zombies and the hollow-cheeked vampires of the vanities.

  23. Shopping for bragging rights

In the ever-escalating effort to bestow the ultimate holiday gift (come on, admit you feel the urge to be at least a little bit competitive about it), the tendency is to focus myopically on the material. That's all well and good as long as there are sports-stadium naming rights, moon rocks or French vineyards to be bought.
