1. 'Anger Management' -- Charlie Sheen's second act. (Oh, and he's the shark in 'Jaws,' too.)

Liz Smith
"If 'Anger Management' wins an audience ... it'll most likely be due not to the quality of the show but to the immense appeal and charm of Charlie Sheen on the small screen," writes Erik Hedegaard in Rolling Stone. (The show bows on June 28 on Fox.) This...

3. Charlie As President?

Director Robert Rodriguez announced via Twitter that he's just cast Charlie Sheen to play the President of the United States in his upcoming movie Machete Kills. The film is the sequel to the director's 2010 action thriller, Machete. Coincidentally, Charlie's father, Martin Sheen, played a president for seven years on the hit drama The West Wing. There's no telling if Charlie will be able to outshine his dad in the role, but one thing's for certain: If seeing Charlie Sheen in the Oval Office doesn't get Americans into the voting booth, nothing will.

5. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

I remember kind of liking Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, but thought they tried too hard to be hip with all the music references. The writer of that screenplay – Lorene Scafaria – wrote this, making her directorial debut. This time one of the two protagonists loves collecting vinyl records, which is the go-to hobby for people that are hip. And like her, I’d be furious if my lover left me and took my Pet Sounds album. I’m just not sure why she carries around albums when we’re told early on that the world will end in three weeks. The newscast even informs us that the last rocket that went up to try and destroy the asteroid failed. So I hardly think that people running around town would be carrying around their album collections instead of a small ipad with all their songs.

21. Cordray appointment: A win for Obama -- and the public

President Barack Obama owes congressional Republicans at least a thank-you card for their efforts to block Richard Cordray as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. That GOP leaders continue to howl over Mr. Obama's decision on Wednesday to elevate Mr. Cordray to the post as a recess appointment shows theirs is the gift that keeps on giving.
