3. The Chicago actor's dilemma: Love Chicago but leave it

"No actor should be in Chicago 'cause they wanta make money," a character says in "The Last Duck," a new play that includes a brief but pointed look at our Second City complex. "It's more about art," the guy says. "You know, whatever that means. Or you gotta tell yourself that."

  5. 'Happy Endings' recap: 'Meet the Parrots'

One of my favorite aspects of our “gotta have it now!” society is how quickly TV shows come to DVD. Instead of waiting for some of your favorite episodes to make the rerun rounds or worse, try to catch it in the DVD cycle.

  11. Best News: Party Down Movie in the Works

Is 2012 not just the best already? Answer: It totally is. Here's some proof. Megan Mullally, occasional "Parks and Recreation" guest star and real-life wife of Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that a "Party Down" movie is happening, and the entire cast is coming back, but maybe not Jane Lynch. Still! "Party Down" is hysterical and I believe two hours of Henry and Casey might send me blissfully to my death. This is the best TV news since NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt assured us all that "Community" is most certainly NOT canceled and will be back. Phew, you guys. Close call. Let's all rest easy and await what the TV gods will bless us with next!

  19. 'So You Think You Can Dance': Melanie Moore is America's favorite dancer

As expected, Melanie Moore, the 19-year-old dancer from Marietta, Ga., totally won season 8 of "So You Think You Can Dance." But, really, as Nigel Lythgoe said at some point earlier this season, it's really dance that won. We got to spend the steamy summer months watching amazing dancers performing routines by some of dance's best and edgiest choreographers.

The TV Guy - Orlando Sentinel
