Griffin Theatre will perform 'Titanic'

“Titanic,” the 1997 musical that was slated for a Broadway revival this fall until a lack of an available theater postponed the production, will receive a staging from Griffin Theatre Company in October, the company said on Tuesday. The musical with a score by Maury Yeston ("Nine") and a book by Peter Stone ("1776") is not based on the Academy Award-winning James Cameron film. Notably, the last time “Titanic” was seen in a professional production in Chicago was in 1999, when the first national tour played the Civic Opera House, a massive Loop theater that seats 3,563 people.
