3. Blu-ray Review: A bit of a 'Titanic' waste

There are literally dozens of movies about the Titanic; this 1953 Hollywood version is one of the three best-known (the other two being Roy Ward Baker's “A Night to Remember” and James Cameron's modest little 1997 chamber drama). Like Cameron, director Jean Negulesco (Fox's go-to guy for melodrama at the time), writer/producer Charles Brackett (after the severing of his amazing 12-year collaboration with Billy Wilder), and co-writers Walter Reisch and Richard Breen focused primarily on the romantic lives of fictional characters. Barbara Stanwyck and Clifton Webb are the central pair, with Robert Wagner and Audrey Dalton representing young love.

  7. What we know about 'Divergent' filming in Chicago

We know "Divergent" — the futuristic sci-fi flick starring Shailene Woodley ("The Descendants") and directed by Neil Burger ("Limitless") — will begin filming entirely on location in Chicago and at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios on the West Side in April. We've also been told by Gov. Pat Quinn that filming for "Divergent," scheduled to hit theaters March 21, 2014, will bring in $30 million in local spending and 1,000 jobs.

The 3-D re-release of James Cameron's "Titanic" in early 2012 was a worldwide box-office success (though nowhere near the scale of the original 1997 movie's theatrical run), and it performed best in China. The re-release grossed over $100 million,...
