1. Dexter Baker's global legacy will roll on at the T-town velodrome

If you travel to, or meet people from, places like Europe or New Zealand, you may draw blank stares by mentioning, say, Peeps.
If you travel to, or meet people from, places like Europe or New Zealand, you may draw blank stares by mentioning, say, Peeps. Similarly, you may be shocked to find that faraway people are ignorant of Billy Joel's song of gloom, Lee Iacocca, the source...

3. SIMPLY THE BIBLE: Be honest

Honesty is the best policy. A quotation many are familiar with and yet a policy very few live by. “Honesty,” is a song written by Billy Joel, released in 1979. Some of its lyrics are, “Honesty is hardly ever heard and mostly what I need from you.” We have heard songs, seen TV shows, read news articles and purchased books about the subject, but why do we find it so difficult to be honest. I believe part of the reason may be, it makes us vulnerable, more transparent than we like, real without phoniness. Being real is required to become a Christian.

19. INKED! Wilde about the 'stache, and soon, Billy Joel

The mustache used to be important, a facial accoutrement to be taken seriously, by serious men.
The mustache used to be important, a facial accoutrement to be taken seriously, by serious men. Now, it’s part of an overall look based on irony. It’s a furry caterpillar of contrarianism, the badge of the 20- or 30-something hipster, with...

21. Cyndi Lauper working out the kinks in 'Kinky Boots'

NEW YORK - The New 42nd Street Studios, where many Broadway musicals rehearse, are full of drama. Once at this very address, a hung-over Billy Joel spilled coffee all over a furious Twyla Tharp's sacred dance floor. And if, some warm September Saturday, you find yourself sharing an elevator with a couple of chatty dancers confounded by the ability of glitter to hold persistently to the body after at least three showers, well it's just another ordinary day at this particular theater factory, where hoofers kvetch on every floor. Hey, when you're playing a drag queen eight shows a week, clingy glitter is a very real issue.

23. Q&A: 'Looper' writer-director Rian Johnson

“I can imagine a young actor having a leading role in this big action movie saying, ‘What do you mean? You’re casting me but you want to change my face?’” says Rian Johnson of his awesome sci-fi thriller “Looper,” for which Joseph Gordon-Levitt endured daily three-hour makeup sessions. “Absolutely zero of that with Joe. That’s actually specifically what he loves, is vanishing on screen.”
