If you're wondering whether soul singer Al Green can still hold those long, wailing notes from his classic song, "Let's Stay Together," he can. He did so recently -- and much more -- at a show in the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Sure, he's added a few middle-aged pounds, and his steps are a little slower (that's what backup dancers are for), but his voice remains intact.

Why go: When Green sings "Take Me to the River," it's like you're back in the '70s, except the Chicago Children's Choir will be backing him up.

Reconsider: Is it OK for a reverend to be singing "Love and Happiness?" ("Something that can make you do wrong ... Someone's on the phone, three o'clock in the morning ... ")
